Extravagance in Bucharest

Bucharest is not only a city where you can discover places full of history, it is also a European capital that has developed in line with what has happened internationally, adopting the customs of the “good world”. If we refer to the number of inhabitants that the capital of Romania has, then Bucharest is the seventh largest city in the European Union. In such a metropolis, extravagance could not be lacking.

The luxury industry in Romania is growing at least three percent annually. The most spectacular businesses in this area are developed in Bucharest, the city that is beginning to attract that type of tourist for whom shopping is the ingredient of a successful holiday. In addition, the luxury hotel industry has more and more customers among ordinary people with a certain standard of services.

Brand bags, perfumes, clothes

Louis Vuitton, the famous bag maker for 19th century nobles, is the best example when it comes to the luxury industry. Today, stores opened under this brand exist in many cities of the world, including in Bucharest.

The luxury company entered the local market in 2008 and since then has been selling its limited edition products or products made on special order in Romania. The fact that the company has been operating in our country for more than a decade shows that there is a market for its bags that sell with prices starting from 150 euros and can reach tens of thousands of euros.

Brands have found a marketplace in Bucharest.

In December 2013, Dolce & Gabbana opened its first boutique in Romania. As expected, also a location in Bucharest was chosen. The clothes created by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, as well as the other luxury products under this brand, have many followers among brand enthusiasts.

Another luxury brand, Gucci, also has a significant presence on the Bucharest market. The luxury brand store was opened under a franchise by a family of Romanian investors, and so far the businesses have proved to be profitable by registering increases from year to year.

Clothes, perfumes, bags, shoes, watches, almost all luxury brands have also made their presence felt in Romania. Many of them own successful businesses locally, proving that the luxury industry, though a niche one, is experiencing significant expansion.

The hotel industry shoulders the development of luxury

Not only luxury products are sought after on the Bucharest market. The services are equally sought, in this category being included also a part of the hotel industry in the capital of Romania.

One of the most spectacular luxury hotels in Bucharest is Carol Parc. The hotel impresses with both the building in which it is opened and the luxurious furniture with which the rooms are equipped. And the range of services it offers to its clients also fall into the luxury category.

Present for 20 years on the Romanian market, the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel is another location that falls into the luxury category. Equipped with six restaurants, 12 conference rooms and 402 rooms with safe, the hotel provides transportation to and from the airport. Also, at the customers’ request, it offers luxury limousines with which they can travel to different locations.

Located right near the National Theater, the InterContinental Hotel remains a symbolic building for Bucharest.

Opened in 1971, InterContinental had as an initial destination the accommodation of foreign tourists coming to Romania. Even though so many years have passed since its opening, the hotel continues to be at the forefront of the industry.

The luxury industry is growing year by year.

Those who love extravagance do not have to miss the offers that the luxury restaurants in the Romanian capital make available to its customers.

Casa Capșa, a restaurant with a tradition that begins in 1874, has built a name synonymous with extravagance, luxury, opulence. If a century ago, Casa Capșa was the only place in Bucharest where the rich could enjoy with caramels, fondant candies and chocolate eggs brought just from Vienna, and now the restaurant offers luxury services accessible only for wealthy people.

In the luxury category we can also include the restaurant that the famous chef Joseph Hadad opened in Bucharest. Thanks to the preparations bearing the “signature” of the well-known chef, the restaurant manages to attract the lovers of fine dishes.

From the extravagant Bucharest there’s no way it could lack a restaurant dedicated to traditional Romanian dishes.

Casa Doina restaurant falls into this category. In this restaurant, the wines of the most famous vineyards in the country combine harmoniously with the traditional cuisine giving rise to unique events in the life of those who pass the threshold of the restaurant.
