Bucharest is a great university center, and the young people who choose to study in the Romanian capital benefit from many facilities. One of the most important is the one aimed at free access to healthcare.
Such a large community, such as the student community, needs to adhere to clear rules so that the health of its members is not jeopardized.
The Hospital for Students

Students from Bucharest, regardless of whether they are Romanian or foreign, receive free medical assistance. The large university centers in the Romanian capital have seven student medical cabinets and several units that provide free dental services.
Also, the medical network benefiting from Bucharest also includes the Hospital for Students, under which the Evaluation and Treatment Centre for Young Drug-addicted People “Sf.Stelian” is known.
Those who address this institution receive continuous hospitalization services, specialized outpatient services, day hospital services or paraclinical services necessary to provide medical services for the care of chronic patients.
Made up of an integrated ambulatory and a department of psychiatry for chronic patients, the Hospital for Students offers to its patients several specialties: psychiatry, neurology, infectious diseases, neurology, psychology, internal medicine, cardiology.
Student medical cabinets
Students who need medical assistance also have other facilities. In fact, in recent years Bucharest has become an example of good practice due to the network of school medicine that it has managed to develop.
At present, the population schooled in the Capital (pupils, students, kindergarten children) benefits from 441 general school medicine cabinets, 144 dental school cabinets, seven general medical university medical cabinets and 13 university dental cabinets. In these medical cabinets, 138 general practitioners, 161 dentists and 586 nurses work. The medical staff provide free consultations and treatments for approximately 250,000 pupils and 121,000 students.
For example, for the students from the University of Bucharest, these services are provided by the University Medical Cabinet, located inside the Mihail Kogălniceanu Student Dormitory. The unit belongs to the Administration of Hospitals and Medical Services Bucharest (ASSMB) and has a number of 11 employees. Of these, seven are doctors and four are nurses. The institution offers general medical assistance, but also dental services. All investigations and treatments performed here are free.

And the students from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest have such a cabinet, located inside the Regie Student Complex, dormitory P7, on the ground floor. The medical staff working here consists of five doctors and six nurses.
Students benefit from free curative consultations, the possibility of carrying out paraclinical investigations (laboratory). Also, here are issued the prescriptions, but also the referral tickets for free consultations to the specialized doctors.
For their part, the students from the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest have such a cabinet on Splaiul Independence, no. 290, District 6, Dormitory U6, on the ground floor. A family doctor and a nurse provide the following services to young people: consultations, issuing referral tickets for students in the province, treatments, vaccinations. It is important to mention that students who come to the medical cabinet for the first time must present the identity card and the student card aimed at day, for the preparation of the medical record.
Young people who have opted for one of the faculties of the Academy of Economic Studies (ASE) have two medical cabinets available. One is general medicine and the other is dentistry. The two cabinets operate in Moxa Dormitory, on the ground floor, on Mihail Moxa Street no. 11.
And the students of the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest benefit from free medical assistance, granted within the medical cabinet of the U.T.C.B, located on Tei Campus.
